Description
Low vitamin D levels are a widespread problem worldwide, and numerous studies - from basic research to clinical trials - have shown a clear link between vitamin D deficiency and chronic and acute diseases. According to recent large observational studies, around 40% of Europeans have inadequate vitamin D levels, with 13% having severe deficiency.
The Newfoundland vitamin D test is an immunoassay based on the principle of competitive binding. The higher the concentration of 25 (OH) D in the sample, the brighter the T-line. The result is read from the vitamin D color chart included in the test kit.
Performance:
- Three detection limits for vitamin D - deficient (below 10 ng/mL), insufficient (10-30 ng/mL), sufficient (30-100 ng/mL) and excessive (above 100 ng/mL)
- Accuracy 94 %
- Result in only 10 minutes
